BobbyThe beginning of this book started out with a eight year old boy trying to keep his cooked rabbit from two bad men。 Refusing to give it to them at first then running into the bush after throwing the rabbit at them。 The Sheriff came to his rescue and started Bobby into a new and better life。 Another good book！！

amazing ReadCJ Petit is one of the best if not the best western writers I have read every single book he has written and have enjoyed each book。 He brings the characters to life and makes them very believable。 You feel as if you really know the people he writes about。 He shows his respect of women and knowledge of history。 Being a horse breeder I appreciate the knowledge he shows of the care of horses。 His knowledge of guns， rifles and hand guns is extensive。 I would highly recommend his books ！

Out of the last six or eight westerns I have read about half were not worth reading。 。。。。However，。。。 Mr。 Petit has a book worth reading。 I am an old guy， very sensitive， very emotional， Old Dogs， Children and watermelon wine gets my attention。 Rusty rescues a little boy who was being bullied by two grown men trying to take away the last bit of food he has。 The kid is a runaway from an orphanage where he was being treated badly。 Rusty after rescuing "Bug" didn't know what to do with him， eventual Out of the last six or eight westerns I have read about half were not worth reading。 。。。。However，。。。 Mr。 Petit has a book worth reading。 I am an old guy， very sensitive， very emotional， Old Dogs， Children and watermelon wine gets my attention。 Rusty rescues a little boy who was being bullied by two grown men trying to take away the last bit of food he has。 The kid is a runaway from an orphanage where he was being treated badly。 Rusty after rescuing "Bug" didn't know what to do with him， eventually Rusty grew attached and adopted him。 The story is good but drags in a few places and in several places will bring you to tears， its a book hard to put down。 。。。more
